There’s a plan to renovate the brilliant Magazine Fort, a bastion fort in the Phoenix Park. Built in 1785 (and added to over the years), it’s a brilliant building, but is in terrible condition. The government has just published their report into the consultation for mobility changes in the Phoenix Park. I reckon it’s progress, but a mixed bag: there are some big wins, some bits which are hard to judge at this stage, and at least two decisions where they have clearly bottled it.

I’ve spent a lot of time in Islandbridge during the lockdown. It’s a great part of the city – with close access to the Phoenix Park, War Memorial Gardens, the Liffey, and town.
The Phoenix Park is going to change. They’ve set out a mobility plan which looks at improving how people get to the park and how they move around it. Public consultation is open until 12th March, here.
